Mom Said-changed a life

Sunday May 9, 2010 Pastor Gladus Lara

Because of what Mom said it has changed a life. 1 Kings 22:1-2. Josiah was 8 years old and became King. His mother Jedidah trained him very well. There was no other King before or after who turned to the LORD as he did with all his heart, soul, strength in accordance to the law of Moses. They say the character of a child is formed in the early 7 years of his life. Mothers can teach wrong things Gen25:27 Rebekah had favorites and this is not good. Kids will often ask their parents "Who do you like more, me or ...." But parents should love their children the same. Rebekah said, "just do as I say and if there is trouble let the curse fall on me."(Gen 27:13). Rebekah was telling Jacob to cheat and help him to cheat. This is not good, parents we need to be careful of what we are teaching our children, it is a great responsibility.

Jscob was known as (cheater and deceiver) but in Gen 32:22 we read Jacob wrestles with God, he fought and got his name changed to Israel, meaning he struggles with God. Ps 139 Because of Him we changed.

The Failures of their Faith

Staff Meeting Pastor Bill

Sometimes I question to the point of frustration, why don't you get it? Well the disciples didn't either (Mark 8:16). Don't be the people who are looking for a sign, like all those following Benny Hinn.

An-as-te-nad-o. This is to pray with frustration because people aren't getting it. How can you get religious people to get it?

Negative things happen for us to learn, but often we get all on the negative side. Sometimes we say, "How can this happen, does God not care? Self pity is thinking-its me, it's all my fault, beating self up. On the contrast we can say it's not my fault and maybe even blame others. Sometimes we want revenge. Sometimes we figure we have miss understood Gods discernment. There can be a insecurity which plants a seed of fear.

Seldom do we see it as a learning experience. Somewhere you have to find your level of life. Don't allow highs to get to high, neither lows too low. We want to live on the mountain top, but we always have to come back down to the valley/reality. Don't get too confident in your highs or you'll have really low lows.

Dia-Logizo: They never discovered who (Jesus) is in the boat is more important than what(bread) is in the boat. After everything the disciples seen, they still weren't understanding. This is the struggles of Faith.

1. Forgetting who is in the boat. We can feel like we are on our own, and you can hold on to a grudge for too long. Either you believe who is in the boat or not. So when you come to the point were your faith is tested you go beyond. Faith carries you beyond your issues and here it is tested.
2. Jesus could do the same for them as he did for others: They just seen a miracle and still didn't think it could happen to them. We can be easily offended, but don't run on emotion read the Book and stand on it. Don't freak out, little becomes much.

3. Jesus if you'll allow him loves to do more with less: The loaves

v.19 5 loaves feeds 5000 people= 12 baskets left
7 loaves feeds 4000 people= 7 baskets left
How is it that so many can be tired, and think there is no time when they have Jesus in the boat. "I can control my emotions that no matter what I'm going through people don't notice." PB. Expect to be tested in your faith. This doesn't mean you can just shake it off and act like it never happened. It does mean your commitment is stronger then my emotions, and so In him I can keep moving forward. Some people will not get your message, teens, kids, but keep doing it and one day they just may get it. Keep making an attempt for them to get it.

The Gift of Dreaming

Sunday April 25, 20210 Pastor Tony Lara

Obedience welcomes God. What are we welcoming?

The Gift of Dreaming
For many people it is limited to fantacies, own desires. God encourages to dream, and God had a dream- His people and creation worshiping and serving him. Even if you don't have a dream you can set other peoples dreams into motion, through or by act of kindness (Rom 3:23 -kindness that leads toward repentance). In the movie Jason was willing to set into motion the dream of the little girl. It is a gift to dream but even better is to give or set into motion an others dream. In Josephs obedience to God and the angel he fulfilled the dream of God, his act became a blessing to the world as he traveled to protect Jesus. Johnathan fulfilled Davids dream by giving his robe tunic (1 Sam 18:1-4).

Now by nature Johnathan was King, as he was Saul's son. But Johnathan new it is better to give than receive, to set an others dream into motion. Johnathan knew Gods will, that God had chosen David. You can fulfill God's own dream by helping others. WHEN YOU FAIL, PICK UP YOUR CROSS AND KEEP GOING.

It's also good to tell about your dreams, because sometimes it releases a motivation for others to dream.

The Power and Purpose of The Pressure

Pastor Bill Staff meeting Spring 2010

1. The SPOTLIGHT-if you got issues, get them dealt with before you become a leader, because the higher you climb the more your underwear shows. It's easy to get caught up in the spotlight because everyone likes some recognition. When you think you're doing well in your humaness you seek conformation. "You think you know what you need, but I know what you need." The drive to want to be in the spotlight creates a pressure.

Pressure can come anytime and in places you'd least expect. When you put on that Yogi Bear shirt, people are watching.

2. SCHEDULE. Eph 5:16 We are told in the bible to make the most of every opportunity. However, in the process you have to be selective and find your level of life. In the process of a schedule be careful not to pack in too much, burn yourself out. Where are you going to allow the pressure to come so that it does not crush you?

3. The SLANDERERS- The painful people. You'll always have people that critisize you
4. SKEPTICS receiving a call or email, "You don't know me but I came to yogi bear once and it clicked." But you see I don't do it for things like this, as great as they are. I don't do this to get credit for myself, I do it out of obedience. You cannot change anyone unless they themselves want to change, unless the Holy Spirit gets a hold of them.
5. The SHEPHERD-This is about winning the race of life. Winning the people because the pressure comes when you get into a relationship. If you can understand there is a power and a purpose of the pressure you won't fall. Don't forget your role, and who you are under the leaders and authorities. "I'm trying to move you into the man or woman of God he intended you to be."

Don't Lose Your "Head"

March 26, 2010 Pastor Bill

You are summoned by the King to fill the place. Don't take no for an answer, push and press. 2 Kings 6
1. The loaning of the Axe Head.(6:5) this servant/laborer needs a TOOL to make the building of the new school happen.
A. The compassionate provision-whoever lent this intern the axe somehow had compassion enough to give it.
B. The condition of the provision-the owner of the axe wants it back.
2.The loaning of the axe to the losing
A. The Laborer was diligent in His Working
B. Negligent in his watching. He was so consumed in his work, but negligent (careless) in his watch. Don't get so busy in the work of the Lord that you lose the Lord of the work. When you become so consumed by the work you will more than likely fall into the trap of just functioning, and everything becomes a routine. You can be diligent and yet negligent (careless) at the same time.
3. The locating of the axe head (6:6)
A. The explanation of the Human Problem. It is very easy to lose track, it's part of our human nature to do so. In the moment of the problem the laborer panics (6:5).
B. Application of the divine power. Up to this point they didn't need God's help. But the thing is, it will not get finished without the Lord.

Now when the WORD is working in you, it connects with you, the supernatural anointing is there. The WORD works if you work it, when you build a ministry to save the lost it isn't a fad, it doesn't go out of style.

The intern/laborer/servant lost the axe head, then stopped. ((Now there are things you can do to keep the head from being lost))

Elijah did not do for the "intern" what the "intern" needed to do for himself. Elijah TEACHES the "intern"-get the TOOL whatever it takes.

"I never depend on anybody, I got the TOOL myself. Why? because something was IN me." PB

1 Thess 4:11-12

A Promise from God

March 24, 2010 Revolution

Many people have a motive to give so they can receive. It's not about blessing it's about the legacy- something to leave behind for the people, for example a piece of property or something handed down from the past.

In Genesis 15:5 God took Abram outside and said,"Look up at the heavens and count the stars-if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
Abraham believed and it was credited to him as righteousness.

God told Abraham his promise. It was huge, perhaps your vision of things is so small. You need to get out of your zone of comfort-let the Spirit take control. What is the promise God gives you? If he hasn't clearly given you one yet, get ready, because when he tells you need to prepare yourself to believe as Abraham.

Workshop March 24, 2010 by Willie

Connect with people, this is important. Everyone you come into contact with is important. Really we should try not to ignore anyone, but we often are so stuck to our roster. Don't become so focused on the roster because people don't care about how much you know until they know how much you care.
1. Love, we need to show acts of love and forgiveness Col 3:12-14. God has given us an area to point people towards eternity. Rom 12:9
2. Good learners. Josh knows a lot about Coney Island, he has learned about his area, you need to learn about your people.
3. Good listeners. Mark 2:15-17 take out time for the sinners. Don't function, walk in the light as He's in the light.Live in Christ, don't go to your site in fear, know whom you believe Is 41:10. Love them for them, not the number. Battle in the spirit for individuals.

Problems and Friends

Pastor Tony Lara March 22, 2010

When we try to do things on our own strength we always fall short. We need to depend not on ourself.

You ever allow the enemy to convince you that the day sucks? But problems are a gift from God, see James 1:4. Learn to be excited in Jesus over your problems, it is understanding that you cannot make it but He can make it. Problems are inevideable they will come. Problems will come unexpected and in a variety of shapes and sizes. But you see problems have a purpose. Problems help you to purify your faith, patience and character. God is more interested in your character than your comfort. Problems are not permanent, even for those in pain for years. Problems will push out of you what is in you.

You cannot enjoy the taste of tea without hot water and you cannot have hot water without the heat. You cannot enjoy life without problems because you will never understand joy without overcoming a problem in Christ.

The gift of friendship becomes difficult in all the business of life. See David would not have been King without the help of Johnathan. We all have a desire for a friendship like that of David and Johnathan, see 1 Sam 18 also Ecc 4:9-the benefits. Thing is we all want this friendship but we are not willing to be that friend. Selah. If you want a friend than you must become a friend.

Culture does not promote close friendships. We should know a good friend because they should bring out the best of you.

It would be ideal for us all to have:
-A Moses to lead us
-A Johnathan as a close friend
-A Timothy to mentor us

Move it Forward (Part 3)

1 Samuel 15:20- God tells Samuel not to defeat but to destroy the Amalikites. Now it seems cruel, but any time God says something, it's for a reason. Some enemies you cannot change you must destroy to have nothing remain, they must die. If you do not destroy it, it will destroy you. Obedience is better than sacrifice-like Saul to Samuel because Saul disobeyed and made a sacrifice. In the process of moving forward what is your Amelakite? David had to learn how to encourage himself in the LORD when know one was around 1 Sam 30:6. Go back to the first place or time your Amelakites came, go back to the root of it and kill it. As the song/hymn- "I have decided to follow Jesus, look to Jesus, no turning back, no turning back." Though none go with me I still will follow.

Tongues

Something interesting I found on definition of tongues. Dictionary.com

Are we talking about, 1.unknown tongues ,2.speaking in tongues, 3.new tongues, 4. Other tongues. Tongues is one of the controversial doctrines in the Bible. The first unknown tongue in the bible is at the Tower of Babel Gen. 11:9 (confusion is unknown). Unknown seem to be a punishment. The second speaking in Tongues is mention in Act 19:6, was accompanied by the laying on of hands brought about the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. The third tongue is new tongues which is spoken of in Mark 16:17 accompanied after believing and castings out devils follows the new tongues. Lastly, I believe is other tongues mentioned in Acts 2:4 after they were all filled with the Holy Ghost (Spirit) they spoke in other tongues. Which tongue is actually spoken in todays church? Which tongue is useless in the church today? Why is it so many Christians differ on this subject and yet we all claim to worship God who is not the author of confusion? In conclusion I’ll say like Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:19, Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

Move it Forward (Part 2)

March 18, 2010
Moving from awareness to action. Many people and Christians are aware of things, but they do not move what they're aware of into action. It is a process of being what you are and becoming what it is that God has birthed in you. The good is the enemy of the best. When you come to a point or place in life where you think you're doing good and well, don't be complacent, because God is not finished with you, there is always more. Keep studying, keep learning, keep growing into the process of more.

Many people are concerned, but not many are consumed. Consumed people press on and commit, concerned people often stay back and more easily give up. Consumed people change things. The transition or move from going to concerned to consumed is the transformation of letting go of your desires to then be consumed with God's desires. Allow the Holy Spirit to take a residence and STAYING not coming and going.

Sampling and Processing are two differs. Sampling allows you to see more about the ministry. Processing moves you to want to do it.

Competition and Collaboration are two differs. We must understand we are not here to compete against but work together as a team.

Perhaps in many churches participating in their ministries can seem an easy life, but not here at Metro. You may come to a point where you feel defeated,...but if you do not quite, your not destroyed.

Deut 15:15; 24:18 and 22 -remember- Learn to remember where you came from. It's not about having self pity or having people feel sorry for you, no, remember the land God brought you out of (Is 43:14-17).

You are either dieing or growing. What is the difference between those who move forward and those who fall backward? Israel was in bondage as slaves in Egypt and then set free. However their minds had not been set free...you must, unlike many of the Israelites, learn to be mentally set free. You will live with mental consequinces for doing the wrong thing, but God wants to deliver you mentally. Do not consider, do not dwell on the old.

So how can you let things go? How quickly we can go in our mind to the difficult times. "I try to remember the very people that cared about me." PB. Now, if the devil is holding you, you can rebuke him. But if you are holding on to you yourself, how can you rebuke you? There is a process to everything-like the evidence of growth. You can tell that you are growing by choices you make.

Reacting and responding are two differs. Reaction is action without thought. Responding is thinking before you act. How do we break out of this "Let Go", of this mental bondage?

Exodus 17:8 The Amalekites Defeated. While Moses was on the Mountain praying Joshua and some men where fighting. Some people all they want to do is pray, and some all they want to do is fight...Some are more about the spiritual, others are more about the practicle. However we need both to win the battle. Have you ever thought you defeated something only to later in life be conflicted by that defeated problem again? Israel was delivered out of the land of the Babalonians/Amalekites, but they still had what all happened before in their mind. You can be tough for a little bit, but it is HARDER to be tough for a long time. It is not easy to be set free from the mind, and what happened in the past.

Your mind will mess with you, especially when you are at a week point. "When I'm tired I don't engage in conversation cause I know it wont go well."

Move it Forward (Part 1)

March 18, 2010 Pastor Bill

Move it forward by:Training, Obtaining, Sustaining. So what is IT? Something spiritual, something ministry-something to improve? Recognition is 90% of change. Because it is easier to discipline yourself than have someone discipline you.

1 KINGS 3:16 THE DEAD ONE IS NOT MINE

Soloman didn't ask for something for himself, but something to help the people around him. God granted him wisdom. I'm talking to you as leaders. "Get it" so we can move together. Have enough wisdom to move with compassion. In the head (knowledge) and the heart (love).

1. There is no difference in circumstances of these two women. We, as staff are all starting clear, with a new sleet, a new chance.
-now when you are pregnant with a vision remember God is doing/putting something in you. We all have the same hand, but how you play it-well that is up to you. "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
-Now when you give birth to the vision, God like a pregnant women put something in you. Now will you let it grow or will you kill it?

When someone lets there vision die,it is like the mother who rolled over the new baby, she did it to herself. Don't be careless, do not kill your vision. People often ask, "Pastor Bill, how do you keep excited after 40 years?"

It's because I have guarded the vision, I know whom I believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard 2 Tim 1:12. Sometimes you can't even be aware you are killing the vision until it is already dead...

"I get so irritated with you staff all the time because I see many things you do not. I see there is so much more if you would only move it forward." Bill sees what is in us.

When someone fails they will try to convince you that you are going to fail too. That's why the mother said, "The dead child is not mine." But I have guarded my vision, and I will keep moving forward. What vision brought you here? Let it be guarded. Are you excited still, or are you just going through the motions, just functioning. Learn how to keep the joy!

Real truth comes out over and through circumstances. The mother gave up her position, role, authority, life in order that the child could live. So what are you willing to sacrifice, give up so that your vision can live? What are you willing to "Let Go" of, so that the vision can live? Letting go = freedom. Don't let other people define you, God knows you, let him define you!

What is your it? Sacrifice, Isaac-the thing you need to let go- to move forward before the vision dies. Jesus said the harvest is now, don't say it's after the semester. Guard the annointing. What is in me that needs to come out and develope? Guard the annointing. What is in you that needs to come out and develope?

Vision- To do the impossible, to have God's power released, have kids, teens, parents changed and then changing. Miracles, wonders, signs, dreams, visions, prophecy.

Training-this alone will not move you/IT forward. India worked with a network of 500 churches.

Obtaining: Understanding and geting a hold of the vision.

Sustaining: Sustain your 'level of life'. "I have to desire to retire." The problem with retiring is it makes you want to die....but the vision never dies. It is not about I who start, but I who finish. Guard yourself or there is no way you will last 30 years. Finish Strong.

Life is a Gift

Pastor: Tony Lara Sunday March 14, 2010
Life is a gift from God. Many struggles in daily life are nothing but distractions. We can get lost in these distractions, ponder and think about them all to much. We need to praise God for the gift of life. God entrusted us an inheritance, gifts that come from above, however if you do not do something with what God gives, you'll die. Part of these gifts is bearing good fruit. Bearing fruit is what should flow out of the gifts God gives.

Working on earth and having a Job is a gift. 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 reads: "Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody."

When we think or read about God creating the world we know he was not just sitting on his throne, no he was busy working. He did not need anybody. God was dependent on no one. He didn't need acceptance or encouragement from anybody. When you are doing Gods work you are doing it for God. You make the environment where you work. We must understand our Job is a gift and realize God wants us to have a good attitude about it. "The man who does what he loves will never work another day."

"My mother pushed me to work, and God gives me, and you the keys to work. Depend on him and go. Our work for God is a bridge to minister and gain respect of outsiders. Get busy doing things God has entrusted you with.

How do we work? We can do anything, work hard with excellence, but do not work for the people, money and wrong motivations, work for God. Mother Treasa gave her life to others. "God wants to show his greatness by my nothingness."

We are just like pencils, that's it. Now will you allow God to lift you up and write what he wants for you? It does not matter how you look on the outside, but come into the masters hands, let him sharpen, let him write.

Choose your Battles wisely

Do not let things that are not important engage in your mind. What matters? We are to be warriors, but real warriors only fight battles where there is a treasure. Take a look at Davids warrior character in 1 Sam 17:26-32.

David first had a battle with his brother Eliab, but if you notice he didn't hang around his brother or engage in conversation. As verse 30 tells us after short words he turned away to someone else about the matter. He didn't hang around his angry brother and try to reason with him, he left, because he realized there was no treasure, no benefit in that battle. The warrior who gets hurt is the one who engages himself in the battles that don't matter. Don't waste your energy trying to prove yourself, because Jesus sometimes when faced with questions remained quiet. 'A bulldog can beat a skunk, but it may not be worth the stink.' Don't engage with the fools, leave it to God.

Why is it that people often find themselves trying to please everyone? We must understand there are people who are always looking for a fight, you cannot change them, they are like the foolish mentioned in Pro 26:4.

Nehemiah didn't rise up against Sandbullet and Tabius, but kept focused on the wall. He wasn't focused on there negativity but rather kept focused on what God was calling him to do. Nehemiah didn't allow unimportant things engage in his mind. Remember God is looking for a decent man, a kind man, slow to anger.

Star Search-Imitate

Feb 23, 2010 Revolution Pastor Simon
Deut 20:16-18 Imitating can be as bad as God destroying all to keep his people from their ways or worldly ways. Eph 5:1 tells us to be imitators of God. Is your focus on imitating people or God? Eph 4:12-15 tells us to imitate Christ. What if everyone would act in all there best behavior like Christ, the world would be a different place.

How do we imitate God? Well like people he's not around face to face. However the bible is like a instruction manuel on how to imitate Christ. As well as higher levels of spirituality and the presence of God can create a closer atmosphere to God. Of course getting into the bible or growing spiritually is not easy. In 1 Cor 11:1 Paul sets himself as an example to the church, so it is good to imitate someone who is a good example of Christ. "I (Simon)recommend it." So, who will you imitate?

Feb 7, 2010 Be a blessing inside and outside the Church

Blessed are those who want to damage you (Rom 12:14)Have empathy-ones own intellectual feelings and understanding of something (12:15). It is impossible to love a person with the love of God (Matt 24:12)-"the love of many will grow cold (care only about self), but he who stands firm till the end will be saved." Wake up, stop the passive attitude, look at the disciples praying with Jesus. Take action, don't let the enemy control you in your sleepiness, wake up, hear it. Live good lives for all to see.

Any negativity can grow and really get to a person, to the point it gives authority to Satan. The light cannot live in the darkness. "I love to be accountable so I do not travel alone." Romans 13:14-Rather clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. CLOTHE-change, remove the darkness and old ways, sanctify. BLOOD of Jesus-the nature to do what is right. Remember be a blessing inside and outside of the Church, nothing speaks louder than **actions of kindness**

Feb 3, 2010 Josh Revolution

Alfreado was set free by forgiveness. "Go out with an open heart and expecting."

There are three levels of UNDERSTANDING. 1.Seeing 2.Perceiving 3. Seeing

Seeing is with your eyes. Observing is to see it, name it and tell a little bit about it.Perceiving goes deeper to the order of things, its purpose and a experiential understanding.

Israel understood the acts of God, but Moses understood the ways of God. It's good to know (observe)but even better to have it become a part of you (perceive). God wants you to know him, and he knows the deep inner thoughts of man. The spirit God gave you is hungry,it's hungry from the inside out,not the outside in.

How do we feed-the Word? How do we get deeper?

Recipe of Meditation Josh 1:8;Ps1:1-3;Ps77:11-12;Ps119:10 Tim 4:15
Think about it over and over and let it get deep inside of you
Read it-one verse ten times
Write it-Maybe highlight words that stand out-to shorten a longer verse
Say it-read it out loud-maybe highlight more words
Sing it-sing about what is highlighted to you/what God is showing you
Pray it-what can you apply with what you learned in your life/others

Now it has become a part of you, ALIVE in you Ps39:3
"What you think about often becomes a fire inside of you.
"My heart grew hot within me, and as I meditated, the fire burned;then I spoke with my tongue:

Tithe Gen 4 Is it your best?

Vision, the vision is to Win, Reach, Involve, Disciple the people. Vision is part of Gods heart and plan. In the early Church-Acts 2:42, They where like family, maybe like a "connect group" I,Tony confess that God is going to add the numbers of this church as in Acts 2:47. That we as a church will become a blessing inside and outside of the church. The Romans asked, "How can we be a blessing inside and outside of the church when there are so many people living in such wrong ways?"

The way of the world says it's my choice, I'll do what ever I want. But God says, "Stop, do not conform any longer (Rom 12)". The presence of God and His Word change us. The world says,"You need praise and confirmation that you're good." (Pride). Gods way says, "Give the praise back to Him." Many people say, it is this group of people or that person who is holy and anointed." God's Word says "we are the body of Christ in unity (1 Cor 12)."

Reading Romans 12 creates an on going integrity, a zeal to keep moving forward.

Pastor Tony Jan 24, 2010

To recieve, you must believe. It is more than fighting and doing the practicle. Many people read the Word, but do not believe it. But if you really believe, it is going to be the power to overcome any problem that comes (see John 16:33; Deut 31:8).

Now Peter is in prison (Acts 12). Peter, the leader of the church is struggling, but it says that the church earnestly prayed. Now today people often turn to a talent rather than prayer, because talent brings results, where as prayer you run perhaps a better chance or at least seems so likely that nothing will happen.

How amazing is it that Peter is sleeping next to 2 enemies ready to kill him the next day, and yet he has enough peace to sleep right next to them (v.6). You know if you can learn to stay faithful like Peter, you will see the supernatural. Do you believe like in (v.11) God can send an angel to anticipate any of your problems. God heals but we must believe.

Rodah saw the answer to her and the churches prayer (v.13). In relation to (v.5) the church prayed, fighting and doing the practicle, yet said to Rodah when the answer had come-"are out of your mind? It must be his angel". See the church had doubt that Peter was actually there and set free, meanwhile this is what they pray for. What they prayed for they did not believe.

We need to believe, to open the door of our hearts and let the blessing come. We must start praying, "Today God, I want to see your blessing, I seek it, I ask for it, God I'm knocking." And I believe God will say "I'm going to bless you." Believe and it will be done. But we can sure pray without believing.

Those who have ears, let them hear. You can do something supernatural by opening the door. If you do not do your part by opening the door, the blessing of God will not happen.

The Branch that gives more

Pastor Bill (notes from internship 2009)

Find out your nitch. Those that should be in ministry arn't, and those who are should not be. There's two sides to giving-pay your debts and tithes, and wonder is there enough money extended to others in our lives to make a difference? And also like some of us participating in Run with One we can depend on others to give so we can keep going in the ministry.

They say your job is your life, and your life is your job. If you want something bigger and above or better than the norm then you have to step up. "If you want something you never had, you have to do something you've never done." Nobody owes you anything, but you owe God everything...your life.

It isn't easy in the mission field, it doesn't adjust to you, you must adjust to it. So is your heart able to put out the branch, take the extra step, do the thing you've never done? Or is your heart too hard? Remember, don't ever forget the people who extended there branches to you.

When the branch is extended, it has nothing to do with the paycheck, but with the heart being unhardened enough to put out the branch. Like the old song-"And now let the weak say I am strong, let the poor say I am rich, because of what the Lord has done for us. Give Thanks."

Wanting more of God is remembering what he has done for you and experiencing the riches God gives when you obey his call, or see the need and do it. Wanting more is not self seeking, seeking what you can get for yourself. Wanting more is processing the treasures enjoyed by others. Sharing and partying in their joy. More is realizing it is not about you, but others.

Internship insight

Sometimes it makes me wonder what will it take for me to give my attention to God? It is easy to have your mind and body overwhelmed with things to do and think about here at Metro. But what is it going to take to find the time to listen to God in all this stuff? On Sunday my division and I talked and prayed about 2 Cor 4:4-18 and 2 Cor 6:4-10. It talks alot about doing the impossible and to keep going among all the trials and being aware of the spiritual realm, things unseen and unknown to men. John Mac Aurthur explains it as pursuing God, Christ, the Holy Spirit and souls of men enough to consume the believer. (2 Cor 4:18)

I believe it is when we are in this realm that we can stand the test of keeping on. In the ministry while having great joy, you maintain it, even among all the trials when we get into the spiritual realm. I've tried working on this a series of times throughout life. Often times the energy that comes from the spiritual realm happens in those quiet moments with God. We must discipline ourselves to have this time, it is a struggle. Sometimes we make it, sometimes we break it. Always hope weather we make or break God can helps us, teach us and keep us moving forward.

Last week was a bit of a pickle, trying to keep excited and organized. Being "on the ball" with things during sidewalk can be a struggle. I really felt like I brought the team down. The pressure is always to do better, to improve. I mean for petesake it's hard enough to just maintain ones self. Yesterday the team kept giving me praise about how well I did, so now comes the pressure to stay pleasing to them.(also being aware its not about pleasing the team, but God). There is always a pressure, to do good, to keep doing good and to even become better. Flip that is hard.

(Note: I wrote this during internship 2009. And funny that a year later I still struggle with these same things. Flip.)

Encounter Testimoney #1

Wow oh my Lord wow. First of all I am so amazed at the power and the blessings of God manifested through his presence. I am an unworthy man so unworthy but because of Christ’s love, he is open to give the blessing to those especially who stand clean before Him, and have hearts open and ready to receive! Hungry Hearts, Hungry Souls.

On the first night of the encounter Friday March 5 at 6:00pm, we came and had the first class. We looked at Is 41:18 and Luke 4:17-21. The word of God is great so good, but without the Spirit of God it is nothing. “Jesus is not only all we need, he is all we have, without him there is nothing.” Paul Washer. First we talked about the meaning of Encounter, then we came into worship and prayer with God. I sought so much for God, praying to him, then someone I think Pastor Tony came touched me and I fell on the ground in the presence of God. Later we began the next class talking about the word of God. I was still on the floor in the presence of God, I couldn't get up. Later we were asked to make a commitment to God that we would never again go a day without reading God's word. Tony the Pastor said "You must not break this promise, because it is to God." I trembled inside and I was still on the floor in God’s presence. I struggled and pleaded with God saying God there is no possible way I can do this, I will surely fail! God you must do it for me! Only through you could I ever make a daily lifelong commitment to reading your word, it is impossible! But I got up, hands lifted, stumbling a little plopped on the floor closer to the stage and cried out to God "I can’t God I cannot do it, you must do it for me, I can’t, I can’t”, and lay there crying.
A while later I finally got up and the presence of God was on me, we began the next class talking about WHO IS JESUS CHRIST. Jesus was a resemblance of a lamb. He was the simplest, and humblest, yet that is what Jesus resembled. Read Is 53:3-6. Jesus Christ the lamb, the only one who can save and redeem you! (Acts 4:12). Jesus as the mediator Matt 16:13-16, Phil 2:7. In your heart of hearts who is Jesus to you? And that is a good question.

IDOLS
We then talked about idols. There are 3 kinds. 1. Physical-body clothes, 2.Spiritual-symbols bible, 3.Materialistic-Money, house, car etc. I began to think, do I have any idols? I mean I put God first right? No I was convicted that I must right down "All things" everything from clothes appearance, my bike, work, money basically the want for anything not Jesus, not God. Freedom lies in putting God first. We don't want to dwell on these things, but dwell on Jesus. We need to put God first before everything and break the chains of his wrath against us. See God is a jealous God, but His jealousy is not like ours. He is jealous that we do not follow him Matt 27:27-31.

SELF ESTEEM Gen 1:27.
We learned we must not be defeated by what the enemy says. You overcome Satan by Jesus Christ. Ps 139:13-17. Toney said to all of us who were at the encounter "God ordained you to be in this room, it is a miracle that you are here! John 1:13 Born of God. Is 43:1-4. You can't live to be someone you are not. You cannot live to please people. That is why Bill Cosby, I believe, when asked “what is the secret of success?” said:"I'm not sure about the secret of success, but I know something you can never do, and that is please everyone." You will always have people saying “you're not doing enough; you need to improve here or there.” You yourself can be your own worst enemy by continuously putting yourself down. But remember this: the last word is His. You are perfect in the eyes of God because of Christ’s blood. You must live to please God, and this will only happen when you learn to continue surrendering to him and Paul Washer says this is our greatest problem. Arrogance and pride will keep you from going to the next level. This was Friday night and we were asked to go home in silence being open eared to God. Ecc 3:7; Ps 46:10 stilled; Ps 4:4 in bed search heart. Selah (stop and think about it).

Encounter Testimoney #2

Saturday March 6, 2010.

Media-Youth Pastor: Simon
Faith comes through hearing Rom 10:14.Media is books, radio, TV, movies, magazines. God says guard your heart. Satan is not always obvious; he's a thief trying to get us through the media. 50% of kids who play aggressive video games make them 50% more aggressive than others."Once you know something you cannot unknow it." Pastor Bill. We cannot make room for compromise, no, shut out the evil. Like the boy who heard the loud music in the car along the street with cursing and swearing aloud, the kid plugged his ears and said "LALALALALALALALA" until the car was out of site. We can save ourselves from many temptations, nightmares by not making room to compromise. All music was first created to worship God. Selah. Satan uses media to get into you. Be careful eyes this is why: 1st look-they will hate it. 2nd look-They will dislike it. 3rd look- they will tolerate it. 4th look-they will like it. 5th look-they will love it. Be careful eyes (Matt 6:22-23). Satan can have just a wee bit of you, and that is enough. Selah. We need to set a standard for ourselves. Live in the encounter on a daily bases. “Oh be careful little ears what you hear. And be careful little eyes what you see.”

Being popular, this should not matter. Caring what others think-well what does God think? You want to please people so they will honor you? But God is the one to be honored! When things do not go my way remember: This is the Lords day...not mine. I must pray for my deliverance from these things otherwise I will surely fail. Die daily to Christ (Luke 9:23-27; Rom 8:13-17). “He must become greater; I must become less.” John the Baptist(John 3:30).

Roberto’s Testimony
Sometimes we as Christain’s desire to die so that we can just go to heaven and not deal with all of life’s hardships. I’ve thought this way and often pondered weather or not it is good thinking. Well Roberto has a desire to live a long life in Christ here on earth. Selah.

Roberto was never good enough for his father. In fact he had so much pain and anger toward his father he wanted to kill him and was very close to it twice, but both times his mother a women of God prevented it from occurring. “I did not know the love of Jesus, but when my Mom and Sister came to know Jesus they had this love, and a peace. They treated me different and something inside of me was hungry for it. I came to church many times but still there was something holding me back, still a bag keeping me from being set free. Could God deliver me from drug addictions, the anger? The impossible. Well one day Roberto’s father changed, he came up to him and said “How are you my little child?” They forgave each other and the relationship was restored! Forgiveness brings freedom.

Sexuality-Glades Lara
90% of destruction and damage to relationships is because of sexual problems. Selah. Gen 2:18. “We love the person but we hate the sin.” 1 Cor 6:18 calls us to run, not to stay and stair, not to close our eyes but run. Reading the word of God will keep you strong. Do not fool yourself hiding sin; you are affecting yourself and others, because you are not living up to a high standard. Be careful when you are alone...for you where bought at a high price. You can do anything, but not anything is beneficial (1 Cor 6:12-20). Seek a pure heart.

DELIVERANCE-Josh
Looking at John 8:32 and Luke 4:18. In reference to Matt 21:12 God wants church to be a house of prayer, to lead and direct you. (And was it ever a house of prayer at Metro Christian Center March 7, 2010 I'll get to this later). People will have walls of bondage that keep them from entering into a higher level with God. Bondage like: guilt, fear, depression, anxiety, rage, rejection, bad habits, sickness, sexual immorality. The devil’s work is to kill and destroy John 10:10, he is the robber of your joy and freedom, anything that tries to destroy your freedom in the Lord is from the devil. But as children of God we have authority not in ourselves but through Jesus Christ and he is willing to give it to us, but we must open our heart and be ready to receive. Wrong thinking is not the truth even if it seems believable. There are 3 weapons we can use to defeat the walls of Bondage.
1. We have authority and powerful weapons to destroy strongholds 2 Cor 10:3-5
2. The Word of God-know the truth and it shall set you free
3. The word of your testimony (which I’m writing out)
It is quite easy for us to act or follow Satan’s ways BEAWARE see Matt 16:22-23; Gen 20:25-26; Acts 5:3; Eph 4:25-27.

Now it came time for us to ask God for DELIVERANCE. I seeked deliverance from sexual immorality, jealousy, coveting, arrogance I was on the floor again just soaking in the presence of God. I began so quietly to speak in tongues, I believe for the first time. My hands started to tingle I stretched them wide out on the floor, something unknown to me was happening and I lay on floor late for lunch. Simon (youth pastor) says my face was aglow and I’m not sure when but at some point touched me and felt the presence of God on me. Oh God is so good!

STEWARDSHIP-Karen
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Tony said he had a vision that God is building a people in the staff at Metro now that will stand close by him and the vision of the Church. The Christian who has decided to live imitating Jesus understands God as the OWNER of their heart and therefore, must also be the owner of his possessions. God is the owner of our heart, our dreams. Do you want earthly treasures or heavenly treasures? Often times we worry about are possessions, stop worrying and give it to God. Are you a good steward to what God has given you? If you really put God first in everything then remember even your time is His, let him do what he wants. Wow, impossible.

VISION, MISSION, AND STRATEGY-Jason
Matt 28:18-20 the great commission. The big question asked in this class was “Do you love me?” referring to God. “If yes then feed my sheep.”
When you sit by the television, you sit there and live while other people are out there dying.....”GO”. Every day you need to pray and ask God to break your heart for the lost. The Vision here is: to win, consolidate (come together), disciple, send them, and reach them. "Connect groups" (something we do at the church) are so important see Acts 5:42. House to House. Sending (Matt 10) Jesus sent them. Jesus gives you everything you need because the power of God is stronger than any mans power. Don’t sit around “GO” (2 Peter 1:3 Rom 12:4-3) God has given you so much, now go give to others! Going to feed the sheep has nothing to do with you, but everything to do with God.

Reconciliation With The Father- Pastor Toney Lara
Looking at Luke 15:22-24 God is waiting to give us 3 things: 1. a robe 2. a ring 3. Sandals for our feet. The world is trying to teach us that there is no greater love for a child than the love of a mother, but this is not true. God is known as Father and there is no greater love for a child than the love of their father.

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT –Willie and Pastor Tony
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”(Acts 1:8). Without the Holy Spirit it is impossible to lead a victorious Christian life. If you want to have an effect you must open your heart and receive! Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift of God for believers. See also Acts 19:1-6. Over the past couple of years, I’ve grown more to be sceptical about people speaking in tongues, especially when it isn’t interpreted, but that is for edification in the Church see 1 Cor 14:4. But I learned from Willie that tongues are also our own personal communication between us and God (1 Cor 14:2). Tongues have to be exercised. Sarah my divisional leader said "For many people when they first speak in tongues they have no clue what they're saying. But after speaking in tongues for a while you later start to understand what you are praying about as you speak in the tongues, it may not even be a language known to any human, but you are communicating to God. It is like God is speaking through you on your behalf." Tongues is a gift from God and I’m learning to love it! I am understanding that it is a good thing.

HERE IT COMES!
Now it was time Willie was so pumped he didn’t even want to speak long. It was time for all of us at the encounter to be open and ready to receive the Holy Spirit. I’d got some already and wasn’t sure about my tongues from before lunch but it didn’t take long before I was on the ground again and I spoke in tongues soft and a loud. Later I groaned on the floor as people laid hands on me I laughed out loud a strong laughter for short periods, I think of it as Gods laugh of Joy and triumph over Satan. I sought for tingling hands again and it did come slight.Praise God!

Encounter Testimoney #3

Sunday March 7, 2010 WOW I’m at loss to explain how great it was!

This was the craziest and most amazing Church service of my life! God had came to me in the night and I believe gave me Acts 4:12 and Ps 118:22- to read. It is mainly about Jesus and salvation. I figured this is part of what God wanted me to share for my encounter testimony in the church service. Sarah and I did pick up I and we came to the Jenkins house 8:08 a.m. when we didn’t need to be there till 8:20. Having the extra time I decided to go up to their apt and push them to get out on that bus, on time. I even jumped on Robert as he was asleep in bed and woke him up. He said “I can’t believe you just woke me up.” I said “Last night you told me you’re a man of your word and that you would come to church today, so get up, get out of the bed!” Amazingly it worked, Robert came. It was amazing, a miracle really. The whole family came, arriving on the bus at 8:22. During the worship time the Lord put this event on my mind. I thought about all the blessings God had given me. I thought about Kevin Dedmon's vision with the barrels. There was only a little in the barrel, and he tossed it into the grass and a new plant came up, he looked back in his barrel and there was more. “Give and it will be given”. I knew it would be good for me to step out in faith. It came my turn to say my testimony.

Now the Worship time beforehand was so amazing I was seeking the Lord like never before, so I was pumped. I walked up on the stage; I started off with saying “There is nothing, nothing greater than the presence of God. I can’t really explain what God all did for me in the encounter, but he has blessed me with so much that I now need to give away some of what God has given. I asked that Cindy and Robert would come up, I couldn’t see them for lack of vision and not having my glasses, but unfortunately Robert didn’t come in the church. I couldn’t believe it he came to the church, but not in it. Later when I saw him I wanted to slap him in the face, but instead I encouraged him that next Sunday he would make the next step and come into the church! Anyways Cindy came up. I asked Pastor Tony to come along side with me to pray for Cindy for healing and restoration in the relationship of their family. Then I said in faith “Today is only one day and healing may take a long time perhaps years, but today is a day we will not forget, knowing God does seek for your family to be restored.” Cindy and I embraced. Then I declared to the congregation, “The presence of God is available to you only open your heart, open your heart and receive!”
Well this is not the end. During the service Tony called people up for deliverance I came to a women usher and put my hands on her and God spoke through me like a powerful fire. I prayed she would be set free from her issues, and that the enemy would flee from her, I was praying so strong, when suddenly she left my hands and disappeared. I was a little hurt and thought, oh God it was too strong for her, but then I remained there and prayed for her in tongues.
Later I was lead to go to the back of the Church to pray for people. I joined hands with three girls and the prayer was strong. I told them they have to come before God with their issues and problems, and then when they are right and clean before God they need to be open to receive the Spirit. Then I kept walking around the back and praying, and noticed the same usher lingering around me. Then she stood in front of me. I walked up to her and spoke words of encouragement into her ear saying, “God wants to be closer to you, and do mighty things through you, come before God with your issues and get right with him for he wants to do amazing things through you.” Then I left her. But it is not over!

Later in the second service after me and Fiona drooped off our people, I seen the usher lady again, she was laying hands on people and praying for them. A while after that we met eyes and she said to me, "Thank you for what you said.” And I said “Don’t thank me, those words were God’s.” She nodded and said “yeah.” But it’s still not over.

I had many talks with people about how awesome and great God has been. I went out for lunch and came to a very interesting restaurant for Tai food. It was awesome. Later I came home and started to speak in tongues again on the floor. I began to laugh, then again later. I decided it is time for me and Samuel my roommate to spend some time with God. We spoke in tongues prayed aloud, read the word of God aloud, prayed for the semester, division leaders, Christians worldwide, Christina and her Kids from Farragut(a woman on my site), and the Kids in this city. Wow.....Wow I’m at loss for words in how amazing this all is!

Also something else I learned from Pastor Simon, that I believe is so important is this: When you are going to new levels in the Holy Spirit and you start to do weird things, you need to remain open and free to let the Spirit do what it wants, because the Spirit is very sensitive, like a dove, and often as soon as you think or say “oh no, this is weird I have to stop.” Well then the Spirit will usually go bye bye, and it is sometimes difficult to get Him back. When you open up to the Holy Spirit and it comes on you, keep your heart open and receiving and allow it to do what it wants. Be free in the Spirit, don’t worry what others think and there is a good chance the dove will stay, and if you seek more, it will come. Oh boy it is the best thing that could ever happen to you. I testify this in my experience. But remember an experience isn’t everything, to continue in this, to have daily encounters with God, this is the challenge, and this is what I seek to strive for. Not putting confidence in myself, not putting confidence in other people (except for the Christ in those people), but putting full confidence in God-Christ in me. Satan hates with a passion when we reach higher levels with God, so we have to be aware of this, but also realize how great, how powerful and mighty is God. Selah.

I also want to encourage you with this. Your soul seeks to encounter God at a higher level, it is hungry, but be so encouraged because God seeks for you to have more of him way more than you soul does! Selah. Amen.

Sunday, January 31, 2010

When we wake up in the mornings, how is our attitude? We must ponder the idea of "self fulfilling prophecy" (Pastor James Presbyterian Church). Like most anything it is a choice, and choices lead to consequences. We can wake up in the morning and say, "ugh its cold outside, its wet and dreary, its going to be a bad day." Or "I'm tired, I don't feel like school/work today." Discouraging thoughts will bring discouraging days. Instead we can wake up and say "Hey it is a new day, the Lord made it, I have confidence in my Lord it will be awesome. In this way we can overcome all the hardships battles and problems that come our way. As Tony Lara said, "Is there anything too great, too big, too hard for God?" Keep in mind "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deut 31:8

Sun Jan 24, 2010 Pastor: Tony Lara
A great difficulty in the Christian life is learning or understanding how to BELIEVE. But it is so important that we understand this to allow and to see God move in our lives. To receive you must BELIEVE. To BELIEVE is more than fighting and doing the practical, many people read the word, and even do what it says but do not BELIEVE. BELIEVING is the power to overcome any problems that come. Jesus said to his disciples "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Acts 12
Peter who was the leader of the church was facing a struggle in prison. Yet between two soldiers and guards at the gate entrance Peter was calm enough to sleep (v.6). How amazing is it that Peter has enough peace to sleep with two enemies ready to kill him the next day. Keep in mind that the church was earnestly praying (v.5).

Something that we as sinners in our nature have a problem with is we turn to a persons talent rather than a prayer. See a talent brings results and we often put more trust a persons talent over the supernatural work of God.

Peter was like the man in Haiti who had his foot trapped in concrete. He was stuck for some days, yet when asked how he was the man replied. "I do not fear for my life, because my time is in Gods hands." Peter is faithful in trusting God. Stay faithful and you like Peter will see the supernatural. God will send an angel, God forsees any problem. God heals because he is the Healer, but we must BELIEVE.

Rhoda, she saw the answer, she saw the prayer as they the church where all praying (v.13). And here is the really interesting part, and the point that we as Christians can be fighting and doing the practical, but still not BELIEVE. The Church was praying fighting and doing the practical, Rhoda said,"Peter is at the door." the church said, "Are you out of your mind? It must be his angel" as they had doubt of Rhoda.

We must learn to open our heart and let the blessing come. You may say, "Today I want to see your blessing God, I ask, I seek it." And God is like, "I'm at the door, I'm going to bless you." BELIEVE and it will be done. See, you can pray without BELIEVING. THOSE WHO HAVE EARS, LET THEM HEAR. You can do something supernatural by opening the door. But if you don not do your part by opening the door, it will not happen.

STOP COMPLIANING

Kyle-youth Pastor at Riverdale Mennonite Church
Sun Jan 3, 2010
People have been whinning ever since the beginning. When we look in Ex 15:24 the Israelites where a bunch of whinners they just sang praises to God 3 days ago and then they grumbled. In Numbers 11: 4 they begin to complain even wailing that they are sick of the manna (v.6). Because of all the Israelites complaints the LORD did not let them enter the promised land (Num 14:29-30) and was against them (Num 14:34). The Israelites where severly punished because of their compliants. The Israelites always complianed about their circumstances. And you know it is just like us, someone says their problems and the other says,"ha you think thats bad well let me tell you..."

There is a saying don't tell everyone about your problems because 80% of people don't care and 20% think you deserve it. Life can be tough it just is, that is why we need Jesus cause we can't live a worthy life on our own.

Anyways not only complaining but even when we look at the news people always focus on the negative side of things. Someone died, a drug bust, a murder, theft, gas when up again, the Tronto Maple Leafs lost again etc. And to think with all this negativity floating around God calls us to refuse to complain: "Do everything without complaining or arguing," Phil 2:14. Or "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all citcumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1Thess 5:16. You ought to take pride in Jesus because he will help you to stay upright and not complain. Jesus is the fuel in wich we shine. He's the oil we need to keep our lamps burning Ps 18-28; Pr 20:27; Matt 25:1-

If you complain more than often it is because you think you deserve something better. You dig a pit of pitty upone yourself. But Christains are a blessed people, stop grumbling and start praising. Can't find something to praise God for look at Ps 103-105. Even every breath you take is a gift from God. So now it comes down to a choice...it always does, its always a choice. What are you going to do whine or shine?

FINDING JESUS

Bill Willson
Dec 20, 2009
Luke 2:41-52 The Boy Jesus at the Temple
The minute Jesus was born he was fighting, he was born into adversity. When you are pregnant with Jesus, seldom do you find others who have the good motives you have. But to others who are pregnant you see there is a connection. What do people see when they watch you? Becauce there should be a difference.

Luke 2:44 Interesting, we read that it took A DAY before Joseph and Mary noticed Jesus was no longer with them. Jesus was lost in the Feast of the Passover-today its the elves, shopping, decortations. 86% of gross national product (money) is found during Christmas season. Now if any body ought to know hwere Jesus is it ought to be his parents-today if any body ought to know where Jesus is, it ought to be the Church! Funny thing is you never understand who you have until it is gone. Those who had him (Joseph/Mary) are now the ones going to find him.

Luke 2:46 Interesting, we read it took THREE DAYS to find Jesus. So if you lose Jesus its going to take 3 times as long to find him as to losing him. You better not lose Jesus. When you ever have spare time, time to think and reflect it would do well for you to think about: 1. Where you came from 2. Where you are now 3. Where you are going. "Thats why I (Pastor Bill) go back to the same street conner where my mother left me every Christmas." Don't forget where you came from, don't forget what God has done, and look to the One whe knows where you are going.

Mary recognized her destiny. When she realized Jesus was gone she knew she ought to get him back. And when she found him again she didn't lose him again, but placed him in her heart. Look through the gospels and you'll find Mary followed Jesus right to the cross. If you lost Jesus, you better find him.

COMMAND YOR SOUL

Pastor Tony
How can we prosper our soul? Like the heart it is focused on our emotions intellect and will.Perhaps by looking at how to inherit eternal life. Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength and mind (Lev19:18). We must keep under submittion to God the flesh. We must learn to command the soul how to be in submittion to the holy Spirit. The soul influences your spirit and body. 1. Teach your soul to be quiet. Take charge you can command your emotions. 2. You must educate your soul, "It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way." (Pr 19:2). Wait on the LORD, his timing is best.

3. We must learn to discipline the soul in reading and studying of scripture. You can hold strong onto the certainty of Gods promise as he gave to Abraham (Gen 12:2) and Joshua (Josh 1:6)long ago. "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who whent before us, has entered on our behalf." (Heb 6:19). 4. Teach your soul to boast in the Lord (1 Cor 1:31)"I will extol the LORD at all times, his praise will always be on my lips(Ps 34). 5. Teach your soul to be accountable. We must learn to speak to our own soul as in Palsm 103 and priase God for all he does and has done. In every battle remeber what God has done.

IF YOU CAN'T BE A KING BE A KING MAKER

Pastor Bill Willson
Matt 1:6-11
Everyone of these men became Kings a Monarchy-ends with Babylon.
Matt 12:16
None of these men are Kings but more like a town Mayer

Joseph because of circumstances could not be a King. He was in line to be King and would have been King had the Babylonians not taken over. And here is something that Joseph may have come across: If I can't be a King, I'll be a King maker.

Many times you sit there and think, I'm not satisfied I want to be at a higher level. God birthed a vision in you and there has to be stewardship with leadership. The greatest chance to change a life is be a King maker. In Matt 1:20 Joseph has a choice do I stay or go with Mary. See if it wasn't for Joseph who would have travelled on the donkey?

1. Joseph provided a place. Its just like the man Dave who paid $17 for Bill to go to camp. Dave knew something could change if I get him in the presence at least once.
2. Joseph was prepaired for his position. He was a carpnter, he knew how to build things and if you love someone, you'll serve them. He was prepaired and he can now show others how to be prepared. Many sunday school teachers spend five miniutes on there sunday lesson with some pitty curiculam book done up by some so "qualified" person cayse they have a Phd or Masters. Sunday morning they come into the class and after the class is over wonder why there is no power, no annointing maybe they don't even care. But for most cases its cause there was no discipline in getting prepared. Where is a teacher who would stay up all night to prepare a good lesson? Maybe that's what it's going to take. Would you be willing to pay that price?
3. Joseph knew the power in the potential. Do you see the potential in the people you deal with? It won't be easy dealing with them, for some it takes them to hit rock bottom before they come to thier senses. And then God can work in them in such a way that they really are changed and continue to change.

If you cant be a King, be a King Maker

CHARACTER

Pastor Tony
Character produces trust. People can talk, and say alot of things about how they want to be a better person or whats just and unjust, what they believe,...but their actions reflect who they are. If a persons intentions and actions always colapse the character will reveal why. Charcater is like gold, firm in battles and struggles. See a gift is a talent, it comes easy and sometimes quit naturally. But character is a development and it is up to you, it is your choice to make an effort for good character. Often the problem is there's more harp on gifts than character. A gift can take you to a certain level, but character will keep you there.

Your attitude reveals character. If you are struggling Character brings these struggles to God. It does well for a person to have a leader like Moses, a mentor like Paul to Timothy and a friend like Johnathan to David(1 Sam 20).

What are you made of? Choose what is right, examine yourself because things will go bad if you are not careful. "Character is like a TREE and the shadow is its representation." (Abraham Linkin). Take a look at Ps 92:12. Palm trees never break because of thier roots. A Ceder takes long to grow and lasts longer in damp or wet conditions than most other woods. Good things worthy things take time...and it does not come easy.

looking at Daniel 1. Daniel and many of the magicians, enchanters and astrologers where young men without physical defect, handsome, good learners, well informed and quick to understand. They would be trained for 3 years and then enter the Kings service(Dan 1:4-).Daniel was the only one who stood against the Kings command to execute all the wise men of Babylon. He did this with wisdom and tact (2:14). All the other magicans and astrologers said this dream is too difficult (2:11) But Daniel asked for time to interperet the dream (2:16). He plaeded to God for Mercy with his friends (2:18) the vision was revealed to him (2:19)he praised God (2:20) and didn't take any credit for what God had done in him (2:30). That is Charcter taking a step of faith against what everyone else is doing, and trusting in God to solve the problem. Daniel prayed daily keeping the character that's INTEGRITY. Crisis will reveal what you are made of.

God is building something special in you that takes time, that lasts. If you want to keep the fire of God be planted in his presence. "In my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence foever" (Ps 41:12). How do you use you free time? Choose what is right, it would do well for you, see Luke 16:10. At the end of the day its just you laying in your bed. Could you say here is my treasure...I'll pay the price no matter what.
