The Power and Purpose of The Pressure

Pastor Bill Staff meeting Spring 2010

1. The SPOTLIGHT-if you got issues, get them dealt with before you become a leader, because the higher you climb the more your underwear shows. It's easy to get caught up in the spotlight because everyone likes some recognition. When you think you're doing well in your humaness you seek conformation. "You think you know what you need, but I know what you need." The drive to want to be in the spotlight creates a pressure.

Pressure can come anytime and in places you'd least expect. When you put on that Yogi Bear shirt, people are watching.

2. SCHEDULE. Eph 5:16 We are told in the bible to make the most of every opportunity. However, in the process you have to be selective and find your level of life. In the process of a schedule be careful not to pack in too much, burn yourself out. Where are you going to allow the pressure to come so that it does not crush you?

3. The SLANDERERS- The painful people. You'll always have people that critisize you
4. SKEPTICS receiving a call or email, "You don't know me but I came to yogi bear once and it clicked." But you see I don't do it for things like this, as great as they are. I don't do this to get credit for myself, I do it out of obedience. You cannot change anyone unless they themselves want to change, unless the Holy Spirit gets a hold of them.
5. The SHEPHERD-This is about winning the race of life. Winning the people because the pressure comes when you get into a relationship. If you can understand there is a power and a purpose of the pressure you won't fall. Don't forget your role, and who you are under the leaders and authorities. "I'm trying to move you into the man or woman of God he intended you to be."
