March 26, 2010 Pastor Bill
You are summoned by the King to fill the place. Don't take no for an answer, push and press. 2 Kings 6
1. The loaning of the Axe Head.(6:5) this servant/laborer needs a TOOL to make the building of the new school happen.
A. The compassionate provision-whoever lent this intern the axe somehow had compassion enough to give it.
B. The condition of the provision-the owner of the axe wants it back.
2.The loaning of the axe to the losing
A. The Laborer was diligent in His Working
B. Negligent in his watching. He was so consumed in his work, but negligent (careless) in his watch. Don't get so busy in the work of the Lord that you lose the Lord of the work. When you become so consumed by the work you will more than likely fall into the trap of just functioning, and everything becomes a routine. You can be diligent and yet negligent (careless) at the same time.
3. The locating of the axe head (6:6)
A. The explanation of the Human Problem. It is very easy to lose track, it's part of our human nature to do so. In the moment of the problem the laborer panics (6:5).
B. Application of the divine power. Up to this point they didn't need God's help. But the thing is, it will not get finished without the Lord.
Now when the WORD is working in you, it connects with you, the supernatural anointing is there. The WORD works if you work it, when you build a ministry to save the lost it isn't a fad, it doesn't go out of style.
The intern/laborer/servant lost the axe head, then stopped. ((Now there are things you can do to keep the head from being lost))
Elijah did not do for the "intern" what the "intern" needed to do for himself. Elijah TEACHES the "intern"-get the TOOL whatever it takes.
"I never depend on anybody, I got the TOOL myself. Why? because something was IN me." PB

A Promise from God
March 24, 2010 Revolution
Many people have a motive to give so they can receive. It's not about blessing it's about the legacy- something to leave behind for the people, for example a piece of property or something handed down from the past.
In Genesis 15:5 God took Abram outside and said,"Look up at the heavens and count the stars-if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
Abraham believed and it was credited to him as righteousness.
God told Abraham his promise. It was huge, perhaps your vision of things is so small. You need to get out of your zone of comfort-let the Spirit take control. What is the promise God gives you? If he hasn't clearly given you one yet, get ready, because when he tells you need to prepare yourself to believe as Abraham.

Connect with people, this is important. Everyone you come into contact with is important. Really we should try not to ignore anyone, but we often are so stuck to our roster. Don't become so focused on the roster because people don't care about how much you know until they know how much you care.
1. Love, we need to show acts of love and forgiveness Col 3:12-14. God has given us an area to point people towards eternity. Rom 12:9
2. Good learners. Josh knows a lot about Coney Island, he has learned about his area, you need to learn about your people.
3. Good listeners. Mark 2:15-17 take out time for the sinners. Don't function, walk in the light as He's in the light.Live in Christ, don't go to your site in fear, know whom you believe Is 41:10. Love them for them, not the number. Battle in the spirit for individuals.

Problems and Friends
Pastor Tony Lara March 22, 2010
When we try to do things on our own strength we always fall short. We need to depend not on ourself.
You ever allow the enemy to convince you that the day sucks? But problems are a gift from God, see James 1:4. Learn to be excited in Jesus over your problems, it is understanding that you cannot make it but He can make it. Problems are inevideable they will come. Problems will come unexpected and in a variety of shapes and sizes. But you see problems have a purpose. Problems help you to purify your faith, patience and character. God is more interested in your character than your comfort. Problems are not permanent, even for those in pain for years. Problems will push out of you what is in you.
You cannot enjoy the taste of tea without hot water and you cannot have hot water without the heat. You cannot enjoy life without problems because you will never understand joy without overcoming a problem in Christ.
The gift of friendship becomes difficult in all the business of life. See David would not have been King without the help of Johnathan. We all have a desire for a friendship like that of David and Johnathan, see 1 Sam 18 also Ecc 4:9-the benefits. Thing is we all want this friendship but we are not willing to be that friend. Selah. If you want a friend than you must become a friend.
Culture does not promote close friendships. We should know a good friend because they should bring out the best of you.
It would be ideal for us all to have:
-A Moses to lead us
-A Johnathan as a close friend
-A Timothy to mentor us

Move it Forward (Part 3)
1 Samuel 15:20- God tells Samuel not to defeat but to destroy the Amalikites. Now it seems cruel, but any time God says something, it's for a reason. Some enemies you cannot change you must destroy to have nothing remain, they must die. If you do not destroy it, it will destroy you. Obedience is better than sacrifice-like Saul to Samuel because Saul disobeyed and made a sacrifice. In the process of moving forward what is your Amelakite? David had to learn how to encourage himself in the LORD when know one was around 1 Sam 30:6. Go back to the first place or time your Amelakites came, go back to the root of it and kill it. As the song/hymn- "I have decided to follow Jesus, look to Jesus, no turning back, no turning back." Though none go with me I still will follow.

Tongues
Something interesting I found on definition of tongues. Dictionary.com
Are we talking about, 1.unknown tongues ,2.speaking in tongues, 3.new tongues, 4. Other tongues. Tongues is one of the controversial doctrines in the Bible. The first unknown tongue in the bible is at the Tower of Babel Gen. 11:9 (confusion is unknown). Unknown seem to be a punishment. The second speaking in Tongues is mention in Act 19:6, was accompanied by the laying on of hands brought about the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. The third tongue is new tongues which is spoken of in Mark 16:17 accompanied after believing and castings out devils follows the new tongues. Lastly, I believe is other tongues mentioned in Acts 2:4 after they were all filled with the Holy Ghost (Spirit) they spoke in other tongues. Which tongue is actually spoken in todays church? Which tongue is useless in the church today? Why is it so many Christians differ on this subject and yet we all claim to worship God who is not the author of confusion? In conclusion I’ll say like Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:19, Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

Move it Forward (Part 2)
March 18, 2010
Moving from awareness to action. Many people and Christians are aware of things, but they do not move what they're aware of into action. It is a process of being what you are and becoming what it is that God has birthed in you. The good is the enemy of the best. When you come to a point or place in life where you think you're doing good and well, don't be complacent, because God is not finished with you, there is always more. Keep studying, keep learning, keep growing into the process of more.
Many people are concerned, but not many are consumed. Consumed people press on and commit, concerned people often stay back and more easily give up. Consumed people change things. The transition or move from going to concerned to consumed is the transformation of letting go of your desires to then be consumed with God's desires. Allow the Holy Spirit to take a residence and STAYING not coming and going.
Sampling and Processing are two differs. Sampling allows you to see more about the ministry. Processing moves you to want to do it.
Competition and Collaboration are two differs. We must understand we are not here to compete against but work together as a team.
Perhaps in many churches participating in their ministries can seem an easy life, but not here at Metro. You may come to a point where you feel defeated,...but if you do not quite, your not destroyed.
Deut 15:15; 24:18 and 22 -remember- Learn to remember where you came from. It's not about having self pity or having people feel sorry for you, no, remember the land God brought you out of (Is 43:14-17).
You are either dieing or growing. What is the difference between those who move forward and those who fall backward? Israel was in bondage as slaves in Egypt and then set free. However their minds had not been set free...you must, unlike many of the Israelites, learn to be mentally set free. You will live with mental consequinces for doing the wrong thing, but God wants to deliver you mentally. Do not consider, do not dwell on the old.
So how can you let things go? How quickly we can go in our mind to the difficult times. "I try to remember the very people that cared about me." PB. Now, if the devil is holding you, you can rebuke him. But if you are holding on to you yourself, how can you rebuke you? There is a process to everything-like the evidence of growth. You can tell that you are growing by choices you make.
Reacting and responding are two differs. Reaction is action without thought. Responding is thinking before you act. How do we break out of this "Let Go", of this mental bondage?
Exodus 17:8 The Amalekites Defeated. While Moses was on the Mountain praying Joshua and some men where fighting. Some people all they want to do is pray, and some all they want to do is fight...Some are more about the spiritual, others are more about the practicle. However we need both to win the battle. Have you ever thought you defeated something only to later in life be conflicted by that defeated problem again? Israel was delivered out of the land of the Babalonians/Amalekites, but they still had what all happened before in their mind. You can be tough for a little bit, but it is HARDER to be tough for a long time. It is not easy to be set free from the mind, and what happened in the past.
Your mind will mess with you, especially when you are at a week point. "When I'm tired I don't engage in conversation cause I know it wont go well."

Move it Forward (Part 1)
March 18, 2010 Pastor Bill
Move it forward by:Training, Obtaining, Sustaining. So what is IT? Something spiritual, something ministry-something to improve? Recognition is 90% of change. Because it is easier to discipline yourself than have someone discipline you.
1 KINGS 3:16 THE DEAD ONE IS NOT MINE
Soloman didn't ask for something for himself, but something to help the people around him. God granted him wisdom. I'm talking to you as leaders. "Get it" so we can move together. Have enough wisdom to move with compassion. In the head (knowledge) and the heart (love).
1. There is no difference in circumstances of these two women. We, as staff are all starting clear, with a new sleet, a new chance.
-now when you are pregnant with a vision remember God is doing/putting something in you. We all have the same hand, but how you play it-well that is up to you. "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
-Now when you give birth to the vision, God like a pregnant women put something in you. Now will you let it grow or will you kill it?
When someone lets there vision die,it is like the mother who rolled over the new baby, she did it to herself. Don't be careless, do not kill your vision. People often ask, "Pastor Bill, how do you keep excited after 40 years?"
It's because I have guarded the vision, I know whom I believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard 2 Tim 1:12. Sometimes you can't even be aware you are killing the vision until it is already dead...
"I get so irritated with you staff all the time because I see many things you do not. I see there is so much more if you would only move it forward." Bill sees what is in us.
When someone fails they will try to convince you that you are going to fail too. That's why the mother said, "The dead child is not mine." But I have guarded my vision, and I will keep moving forward. What vision brought you here? Let it be guarded. Are you excited still, or are you just going through the motions, just functioning. Learn how to keep the joy!
Real truth comes out over and through circumstances. The mother gave up her position, role, authority, life in order that the child could live. So what are you willing to sacrifice, give up so that your vision can live? What are you willing to "Let Go" of, so that the vision can live? Letting go = freedom. Don't let other people define you, God knows you, let him define you!
What is your it? Sacrifice, Isaac-the thing you need to let go- to move forward before the vision dies. Jesus said the harvest is now, don't say it's after the semester. Guard the annointing. What is in me that needs to come out and develope? Guard the annointing. What is in you that needs to come out and develope?
Vision- To do the impossible, to have God's power released, have kids, teens, parents changed and then changing. Miracles, wonders, signs, dreams, visions, prophecy.
Training-this alone will not move you/IT forward. India worked with a network of 500 churches.
Obtaining: Understanding and geting a hold of the vision.
Sustaining: Sustain your 'level of life'. "I have to desire to retire." The problem with retiring is it makes you want to die....but the vision never dies. It is not about I who start, but I who finish. Guard yourself or there is no way you will last 30 years. Finish Strong.

Life is a Gift
Pastor: Tony Lara Sunday March 14, 2010
Life is a gift from God. Many struggles in daily life are nothing but distractions. We can get lost in these distractions, ponder and think about them all to much. We need to praise God for the gift of life. God entrusted us an inheritance, gifts that come from above, however if you do not do something with what God gives, you'll die. Part of these gifts is bearing good fruit. Bearing fruit is what should flow out of the gifts God gives.
Working on earth and having a Job is a gift. 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 reads: "Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody."
When we think or read about God creating the world we know he was not just sitting on his throne, no he was busy working. He did not need anybody. God was dependent on no one. He didn't need acceptance or encouragement from anybody. When you are doing Gods work you are doing it for God. You make the environment where you work. We must understand our Job is a gift and realize God wants us to have a good attitude about it. "The man who does what he loves will never work another day."
"My mother pushed me to work, and God gives me, and you the keys to work. Depend on him and go. Our work for God is a bridge to minister and gain respect of outsiders. Get busy doing things God has entrusted you with.
How do we work? We can do anything, work hard with excellence, but do not work for the people, money and wrong motivations, work for God. Mother Treasa gave her life to others. "God wants to show his greatness by my nothingness."
We are just like pencils, that's it. Now will you allow God to lift you up and write what he wants for you? It does not matter how you look on the outside, but come into the masters hands, let him sharpen, let him write.

Choose your Battles wisely
Do not let things that are not important engage in your mind. What matters? We are to be warriors, but real warriors only fight battles where there is a treasure. Take a look at Davids warrior character in 1 Sam 17:26-32.
David first had a battle with his brother Eliab, but if you notice he didn't hang around his brother or engage in conversation. As verse 30 tells us after short words he turned away to someone else about the matter. He didn't hang around his angry brother and try to reason with him, he left, because he realized there was no treasure, no benefit in that battle. The warrior who gets hurt is the one who engages himself in the battles that don't matter. Don't waste your energy trying to prove yourself, because Jesus sometimes when faced with questions remained quiet. 'A bulldog can beat a skunk, but it may not be worth the stink.' Don't engage with the fools, leave it to God.
Why is it that people often find themselves trying to please everyone? We must understand there are people who are always looking for a fight, you cannot change them, they are like the foolish mentioned in Pro 26:4.
Nehemiah didn't rise up against Sandbullet and Tabius, but kept focused on the wall. He wasn't focused on there negativity but rather kept focused on what God was calling him to do. Nehemiah didn't allow unimportant things engage in his mind. Remember God is looking for a decent man, a kind man, slow to anger.

Star Search-Imitate
Feb 23, 2010 Revolution Pastor Simon
Deut 20:16-18 Imitating can be as bad as God destroying all to keep his people from their ways or worldly ways. Eph 5:1 tells us to be imitators of God. Is your focus on imitating people or God? Eph 4:12-15 tells us to imitate Christ. What if everyone would act in all there best behavior like Christ, the world would be a different place.
How do we imitate God? Well like people he's not around face to face. However the bible is like a instruction manuel on how to imitate Christ. As well as higher levels of spirituality and the presence of God can create a closer atmosphere to God. Of course getting into the bible or growing spiritually is not easy. In 1 Cor 11:1 Paul sets himself as an example to the church, so it is good to imitate someone who is a good example of Christ. "I (Simon)recommend it." So, who will you imitate?

How do we imitate God? Well like people he's not around face to face. However the bible is like a instruction manuel on how to imitate Christ. As well as higher levels of spirituality and the presence of God can create a closer atmosphere to God. Of course getting into the bible or growing spiritually is not easy. In 1 Cor 11:1 Paul sets himself as an example to the church, so it is good to imitate someone who is a good example of Christ. "I (Simon)recommend it." So, who will you imitate?

Feb 7, 2010 Be a blessing inside and outside the Church
Blessed are those who want to damage you (Rom 12:14)Have empathy-ones own intellectual feelings and understanding of something (12:15). It is impossible to love a person with the love of God (Matt 24:12)-"the love of many will grow cold (care only about self), but he who stands firm till the end will be saved." Wake up, stop the passive attitude, look at the disciples praying with Jesus. Take action, don't let the enemy control you in your sleepiness, wake up, hear it. Live good lives for all to see.
Any negativity can grow and really get to a person, to the point it gives authority to Satan. The light cannot live in the darkness. "I love to be accountable so I do not travel alone." Romans 13:14-Rather clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. CLOTHE-change, remove the darkness and old ways, sanctify. BLOOD of Jesus-the nature to do what is right. Remember be a blessing inside and outside of the Church, nothing speaks louder than **actions of kindness**

Feb 3, 2010 Josh Revolution
Alfreado was set free by forgiveness. "Go out with an open heart and expecting."
There are three levels of UNDERSTANDING. 1.Seeing 2.Perceiving 3. Seeing
Seeing is with your eyes. Observing is to see it, name it and tell a little bit about it.Perceiving goes deeper to the order of things, its purpose and a experiential understanding.
Israel understood the acts of God, but Moses understood the ways of God. It's good to know (observe)but even better to have it become a part of you (perceive). God wants you to know him, and he knows the deep inner thoughts of man. The spirit God gave you is hungry,it's hungry from the inside out,not the outside in.
How do we feed-the Word? How do we get deeper?
Recipe of Meditation Josh 1:8;Ps1:1-3;Ps77:11-12;Ps119:10 Tim 4:15
Think about it over and over and let it get deep inside of you
Read it-one verse ten times
Write it-Maybe highlight words that stand out-to shorten a longer verse
Say it-read it out loud-maybe highlight more words
Sing it-sing about what is highlighted to you/what God is showing you
Pray it-what can you apply with what you learned in your life/others
Now it has become a part of you, ALIVE in you Ps39:3
"What you think about often becomes a fire inside of you.
"My heart grew hot within me, and as I meditated, the fire burned;then I spoke with my tongue:
