Sunday May 9, 2010 Pastor Gladus Lara
Because of what Mom said it has changed a life. 1 Kings 22:1-2. Josiah was 8 years old and became King. His mother Jedidah trained him very well. There was no other King before or after who turned to the LORD as he did with all his heart, soul, strength in accordance to the law of Moses. They say the character of a child is formed in the early 7 years of his life. Mothers can teach wrong things Gen25:27 Rebekah had favorites and this is not good. Kids will often ask their parents "Who do you like more, me or ...." But parents should love their children the same. Rebekah said, "just do as I say and if there is trouble let the curse fall on me."(Gen 27:13). Rebekah was telling Jacob to cheat and help him to cheat. This is not good, parents we need to be careful of what we are teaching our children, it is a great responsibility.
Jscob was known as (cheater and deceiver) but in Gen 32:22 we read Jacob wrestles with God, he fought and got his name changed to Israel, meaning he struggles with God. Ps 139 Because of Him we changed.

The Failures of their Faith
Staff Meeting Pastor Bill
Sometimes I question to the point of frustration, why don't you get it? Well the disciples didn't either (Mark 8:16). Don't be the people who are looking for a sign, like all those following Benny Hinn.
An-as-te-nad-o. This is to pray with frustration because people aren't getting it. How can you get religious people to get it?
Negative things happen for us to learn, but often we get all on the negative side. Sometimes we say, "How can this happen, does God not care? Self pity is thinking-its me, it's all my fault, beating self up. On the contrast we can say it's not my fault and maybe even blame others. Sometimes we want revenge. Sometimes we figure we have miss understood Gods discernment. There can be a insecurity which plants a seed of fear.
Seldom do we see it as a learning experience. Somewhere you have to find your level of life. Don't allow highs to get to high, neither lows too low. We want to live on the mountain top, but we always have to come back down to the valley/reality. Don't get too confident in your highs or you'll have really low lows.
Dia-Logizo: They never discovered who (Jesus) is in the boat is more important than what(bread) is in the boat. After everything the disciples seen, they still weren't understanding. This is the struggles of Faith.
1. Forgetting who is in the boat. We can feel like we are on our own, and you can hold on to a grudge for too long. Either you believe who is in the boat or not. So when you come to the point were your faith is tested you go beyond. Faith carries you beyond your issues and here it is tested.
2. Jesus could do the same for them as he did for others: They just seen a miracle and still didn't think it could happen to them. We can be easily offended, but don't run on emotion read the Book and stand on it. Don't freak out, little becomes much.
3. Jesus if you'll allow him loves to do more with less: The loaves
v.19 5 loaves feeds 5000 people= 12 baskets left
7 loaves feeds 4000 people= 7 baskets left
How is it that so many can be tired, and think there is no time when they have Jesus in the boat. "I can control my emotions that no matter what I'm going through people don't notice." PB. Expect to be tested in your faith. This doesn't mean you can just shake it off and act like it never happened. It does mean your commitment is stronger then my emotions, and so In him I can keep moving forward. Some people will not get your message, teens, kids, but keep doing it and one day they just may get it. Keep making an attempt for them to get it.

The Gift of Dreaming
Sunday April 25, 20210 Pastor Tony Lara
Obedience welcomes God. What are we welcoming?
The Gift of Dreaming
For many people it is limited to fantacies, own desires. God encourages to dream, and God had a dream- His people and creation worshiping and serving him. Even if you don't have a dream you can set other peoples dreams into motion, through or by act of kindness (Rom 3:23 -kindness that leads toward repentance). In the movie Jason was willing to set into motion the dream of the little girl. It is a gift to dream but even better is to give or set into motion an others dream. In Josephs obedience to God and the angel he fulfilled the dream of God, his act became a blessing to the world as he traveled to protect Jesus. Johnathan fulfilled Davids dream by giving his robe tunic (1 Sam 18:1-4).
Now by nature Johnathan was King, as he was Saul's son. But Johnathan new it is better to give than receive, to set an others dream into motion. Johnathan knew Gods will, that God had chosen David. You can fulfill God's own dream by helping others. WHEN YOU FAIL, PICK UP YOUR CROSS AND KEEP GOING.
It's also good to tell about your dreams, because sometimes it releases a motivation for others to dream.

The Power and Purpose of The Pressure
Pastor Bill Staff meeting Spring 2010
1. The SPOTLIGHT-if you got issues, get them dealt with before you become a leader, because the higher you climb the more your underwear shows. It's easy to get caught up in the spotlight because everyone likes some recognition. When you think you're doing well in your humaness you seek conformation. "You think you know what you need, but I know what you need." The drive to want to be in the spotlight creates a pressure.
Pressure can come anytime and in places you'd least expect. When you put on that Yogi Bear shirt, people are watching.
2. SCHEDULE. Eph 5:16 We are told in the bible to make the most of every opportunity. However, in the process you have to be selective and find your level of life. In the process of a schedule be careful not to pack in too much, burn yourself out. Where are you going to allow the pressure to come so that it does not crush you?
3. The SLANDERERS- The painful people. You'll always have people that critisize you
4. SKEPTICS receiving a call or email, "You don't know me but I came to yogi bear once and it clicked." But you see I don't do it for things like this, as great as they are. I don't do this to get credit for myself, I do it out of obedience. You cannot change anyone unless they themselves want to change, unless the Holy Spirit gets a hold of them.
5. The SHEPHERD-This is about winning the race of life. Winning the people because the pressure comes when you get into a relationship. If you can understand there is a power and a purpose of the pressure you won't fall. Don't forget your role, and who you are under the leaders and authorities. "I'm trying to move you into the man or woman of God he intended you to be."

Don't Lose Your "Head"
March 26, 2010 Pastor Bill
You are summoned by the King to fill the place. Don't take no for an answer, push and press. 2 Kings 6
1. The loaning of the Axe Head.(6:5) this servant/laborer needs a TOOL to make the building of the new school happen.
A. The compassionate provision-whoever lent this intern the axe somehow had compassion enough to give it.
B. The condition of the provision-the owner of the axe wants it back.
2.The loaning of the axe to the losing
A. The Laborer was diligent in His Working
B. Negligent in his watching. He was so consumed in his work, but negligent (careless) in his watch. Don't get so busy in the work of the Lord that you lose the Lord of the work. When you become so consumed by the work you will more than likely fall into the trap of just functioning, and everything becomes a routine. You can be diligent and yet negligent (careless) at the same time.
3. The locating of the axe head (6:6)
A. The explanation of the Human Problem. It is very easy to lose track, it's part of our human nature to do so. In the moment of the problem the laborer panics (6:5).
B. Application of the divine power. Up to this point they didn't need God's help. But the thing is, it will not get finished without the Lord.
Now when the WORD is working in you, it connects with you, the supernatural anointing is there. The WORD works if you work it, when you build a ministry to save the lost it isn't a fad, it doesn't go out of style.
The intern/laborer/servant lost the axe head, then stopped. ((Now there are things you can do to keep the head from being lost))
Elijah did not do for the "intern" what the "intern" needed to do for himself. Elijah TEACHES the "intern"-get the TOOL whatever it takes.
"I never depend on anybody, I got the TOOL myself. Why? because something was IN me." PB

A Promise from God
March 24, 2010 Revolution
Many people have a motive to give so they can receive. It's not about blessing it's about the legacy- something to leave behind for the people, for example a piece of property or something handed down from the past.
In Genesis 15:5 God took Abram outside and said,"Look up at the heavens and count the stars-if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."
Abraham believed and it was credited to him as righteousness.
God told Abraham his promise. It was huge, perhaps your vision of things is so small. You need to get out of your zone of comfort-let the Spirit take control. What is the promise God gives you? If he hasn't clearly given you one yet, get ready, because when he tells you need to prepare yourself to believe as Abraham.

Workshop March 24, 2010 by Willie
Connect with people, this is important. Everyone you come into contact with is important. Really we should try not to ignore anyone, but we often are so stuck to our roster. Don't become so focused on the roster because people don't care about how much you know until they know how much you care.
1. Love, we need to show acts of love and forgiveness Col 3:12-14. God has given us an area to point people towards eternity. Rom 12:9
2. Good learners. Josh knows a lot about Coney Island, he has learned about his area, you need to learn about your people.
3. Good listeners. Mark 2:15-17 take out time for the sinners. Don't function, walk in the light as He's in the light.Live in Christ, don't go to your site in fear, know whom you believe Is 41:10. Love them for them, not the number. Battle in the spirit for individuals.
